The Route
We don't know if Drniš has always been waiting for Epic Rides, but with Epic Rides we've always been looking for places like Drniš — different, authentic, familiar, yet unexplored.
Epic Rides Drniš brings a completely different riding experience — raw, quiet, authentic and surprisingly deep. There's no tourist backdrop or polished scenarios here, but a landscape that slowly gets under your skin: dry-stone walls, fig trees, old hamlets, tractors in the distance and that special Dalmatian-Zagora rhythm that slows you down just enough.

Drniš and the Epic Ride in Drniš are something completely different. If you haven't been, you probably have no idea what to expect.
There's not much tourism here. No cafés with designer coffee and a wifi password "dobrodošli123". Somewhere between two bends and three goat paths, you ride as if the day can't escape you. Because in fact it can't. You can ride fast and slow and it's actually the same.
The images that alternate are simple: dry-stone wall, fig tree, an old lady watering her garden in slippers, and the soundtrack is birdsong and the sound of a tractor.
A transition from urban hyperproductivity to a Dalmatian-Zagora "somewhat" mode. First the worries disappear, then the ego, and finally the need to constantly do something meaningful. You'd take out your camera, but why?
The locals are curious, seem grateful you're there and proud that you're riding through their area.
Mihaljevići, Andabake, Živkovići, Žarkovići, Odaci, Ramljaci, Bukarice, Topići, then Biočići and Miočići. Here it's obvious every family had its own toponym. Sometimes you pass a house from which something smells that probably contains olive oil, garlic and at least one recipe that isn't passed down but just "known".
A landscape that is less for postcards, more for remembering. No first-glance infatuation, but it gets under your skin and stays. There's something humble and stubborn in it, something that doesn't try to be beautiful and that's exactly why it is.
Drniš and its surroundings are not an escape. This is not an "escape". This is a "shift".
A switch from one frequency to another.
We'd say — shift happens.

The Destination
Drniš — a place everyone knows, but no one has actually been to. Until now.
OK, what associations do you have with Drniš? Pršut? Čikola? Stojko Vranković?
Drniš may not be on the top 10 list of the most famous Croatian destinations, but its pršut is. Pršut in Drniš isn't "something that is produced" — it is raised. Dried on the bura and the scent of smoke, without rush, without chemicals, without fakeness. And so for generations.
Čikola? You've heard (of course) of it, but you have no idea where it is. Well, here, in Drniš, where it flows from the field into a fascinating canyon through which it then flows all the way to its mouth in the Krka, just before Skradinski Buk. Yes, Drniš is only a few kilometres from NP Krka, one of the gems of Croatia and Dalmatia.
Stojko Vranković? What about him and who is he? For those of us who grew up at a time when Croatian basketball was among the best in the world, that tall centre, who played in the legendary generation of KK Zadar, the Boston Celtics and who is a living legend in Greece, almost represents the personification of Drniš — tall, solid, persistent, authentic, humble. He is one of those characters you appreciate, even when he plays for the opposing club.
Just so we don't forget probably the most famous resident of Drniš — Ivan Meštrović. This brilliant sculptor of world renown translated his love for his birthplace into his mausoleum and several other works you can find in the town itself — and in doing so, study why he is, for many, the greatest Croatian artist of the 20th century.
We don't know if Drniš has always been waiting for Epic Rides, but with Epic Rides we've always been looking for places like Drniš — different, authentic, familiar, yet unexplored.
In mid-November in Drniš, we'll show you that Drniš and cycling can do much more than you think.
