The name Šotovento comes from the Italian "sotto vento" — "under the wind". The hidden western part of the island of Krk, sheltered from the bura, is green, forested and gentle. Without crowds, but with genuine island charm.
Here you'll find scenes you won't find in guidebooks — the monastery in Glavotok, authentic fragrant restaurants and winding roads connecting small villages: Pinezići, Linardići, Milohnići, Žgaljići.
On top of that, the town of Krk opens its Advent — one of the most beautiful boutique Advents in Croatia. Bicycle, Advent, people, island.

Winter version of Šotovento: 37 km of authentic Krk roads, partly known and partly with new segments in reverse direction. We start from the heart of the old town of Krk, dive into the network of gravel roads and paths of the western part of the island, with a 20 km variant for an easier pace (without feed zone). Ideal for the end of the season — fresh air, the scent of the forest and a holiday spirit at the finish.

Šotovento
Šotovento is not just a geographical term; it is a "state of mind". While the rest of Krk buzzes with tourist commotion in summer, this part of the island remains preserved in its silence, offering refuge to those seeking genuine contact with nature.
Here, nature is not a backdrop, but the main actor. Dense forests descend almost to the sea itself, and the air is saturated with the scent of pine and salt. That's exactly why Šotovento offers a cycling experience that feels like an expedition, far from any crowds, where every kilometre of road or gravel is permeated with a sense of isolation and authenticity.
