It's no wonder that Epic Rides was born in a country that has, mind you, 1244 islands.

Choosing from a showcase of over a thousand islands is always a lottery. But when choosing the second island for Epic Rides, after Krk, Rab imposed itself from the very beginning. Not because it's the biggest, the highest or the most dramatic. But because it offers almost incredible diversity on a relatively small area.

Rab is an island that can easily be experienced superficially. As a beautiful summer postcard, with sea, beaches, the waterfront and the old town. And all of that is true. But it's not the whole story.

The true strength of Rab begins when you step out of that first picture. When you leave the main road, when you enter the pine forests, when stone paths, sand, ponds, wildlife, the scents of the island and views that seem much bigger than the island itself open up before you.

The old town of Rab with its four bell towers is one of the most recognisable sights of the Adriatic. Kalifont is a completely different story — a deep island forest, intertwined with gravel roads and gravel sections, where deer, roe deer and mouflon can keep you company. And Fruga, a small plateau facing Velebit, brings an almost surreal contrast of stone, sand, ponds and open space.

And that is exactly why Rab is so good for Epic Rides. Because on it, a bicycle doesn't just serve to get somewhere. A bicycle serves to connect all these different worlds into one story.

For days we wandered around, looking for paths and trails, connecting the most beautiful, the most interesting and the most "Rab" elements. Not to make the hardest route. But to make a route that will once again show why experiencing a destination by bicycle is one of the best products from the happiness factory.
